After taking the 8th worlds warm up title Mark Green carried on his winning ways coming home
To the UK and taking a superb win in the first round of the 1/10th 200m National Touring
Championships. These were held at the Tibshelf track in the heart of Derbyshire. With the top
UK drivers present for this Mark showed that even using borrowed race equipment (his was still in transit from the pre worlds) he was still hard to beat.
Qualifying 4th on the grid Mark made a steady start in the A final knowing he had 30 minutes on the track. Reigning Champ Darren Johnson had made a blistering start and had a good lead when he made a mistake and broke his Team Magic car. In the last 5 minutes Mark was defending his lead from a hard charging Chris Slater's Kyosho who eventually managed to overtake him. Only a few corners later Chris fell off onto the grass allowing Mark to take his Mega powered Serpent 720 to an impressive win. In 4th spot was 13 year old Serpent SOD driver Kyle Branson who after qualifying 6th, moved up the field during the race to claimed 4th at the chequered flag.

Halifax hosted the second round of the BRCA rubber touring, David Hall as usual looked quick as did
Joe Kerry, with their touring cars both making full use of a full days open practice in the warm sunshine.
Sunday Qualifying saw. David (Schumacher) took top spot in the Touring class followed by Joe (Serpent 720) and Simon Wood (Team Magic G4s). Rubber touring 'B' was won by Stuart Farnwoth, while the 'A' Final battle commenced between David Hall, Michael Ball and Joe Kerry. After 30 minutes of racing they finished in that order but still very close together. Many thanks to the Halifax club for another excellent meeting.
